Problematic People
Aug. 9th, 2020 05:13 pmI think that some people tell us who they are with their behavior, and no matter how we feel about it, it's not within our power, nor is it our role or responsibility to change them. If they want to change, they could probably do so with the help of a therapist. If we hang on to the idea that we want them to change, then maybe it's better to adjust our expectations. In other words: It's always a choice to confront problematic behavior that isn't any of our business. However, it's possible that they like themselves the way they are and aren't going to adhere to unsolicited feedback. Better to invest that energy in relationships that are worth the time.
